KTR asks Rahul to Direct TPCC and CM to Annul Agreements Made with Adani Group
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has demanded that Rahul Gandhi direct the Telangana Congress leadership and the Chief Minister to immediately annul all agreements made with the Adani Group.
Addressing media persons at Telangana Bhavan here Friday, KTR highlighted the contradictory stances of Congress leaders on Adani at the national and State levels. Congress’ contradictions on Adani, KTR accused Rahul Gandhi of hypocrisy for criticising Adani’s alleged corrupt practices at the national level while staying silent about the Telangana Congress government’s close associations with the group.
He pointed out that the Congress government in Telangana has entered into business agreements worth ₹12,400 crore with Adani, including investments in green energy, data centers and cement industries. “If Rahul Gandhi is genuine about his accusations of corruption against Adani, why hasn’t he asked the Telangana Congress government to cancel these agreements? How can the Congress portray Adani as corrupt in Delhi while treating him as trustworthy in Telangana?” KTR questioned.
KTR also alleged that the Telangana Congress accepted a Rs100 crore donation from the Adani Group for the Telangana Skill University. He demanded that the donation be immediately returned if the Congress leadership believes in its own rhetoric about Adani’s corruption. “Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy are engaging in opportunism. They must clarify their stance to the people of Telangana,” KTR said.
KTR called on the Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy to explain his meetings and business dealings with Adani. He also questioned whether the Congress leadership genuinely supports the national demand for Adani’s arrest or whether it is complicit in the alleged irregularities. “Revanth Reddy must disclose his position on Adani to the people of Telangana. How can he criticize Adani on one hand and engage in large-scale collaborations with him on the other?” KTR asked.
KTR clarified that the BRS government has declined all proposals from the Adani Group and has consistently opposed the privatization of public resources. He accused the Congress of prioritizing corporate interests over the welfare of Telangana’s people and demanded transparency in all agreements made with Adani.
KTR demanded immediate cancellation of all agreements between the Telangana Congress government and the Adani Group, a public explanation from Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy, about their association with Adani, Return of the Rs100 crore donation from Adani to the Telangana Skill University.
KTR urged the media and the public to question the Congress and BJP on their inconsistent stances regarding Adani. He also highlighted the BRS’s unwavering commitment to protecting Telangana’s resources and standing against corporate exploitation. “Rahul Gandhi must emulate Kenya’s example, where the government cancelled all contracts with Adani after allegations of corruption surfaced. If he fails to act, it exposes the Congress party’s lack of integrity,” KTR concluded.
